The PDGA Competition Committee put in hundreds of unpaid, volunteer hours on the 2018 revision, working to clean up and clarify the verbiage while simultaneously creating new items and editing existing ones. The 2018 revision contains updates and edits based on nearly five years of feedback (last revised on January 1, 2013) from PDGA members, tournament directors, Board of Directors members, PDGA staff, State/Provincial Coordinators, etc.

Many small changes have been included simply for clarity in the 2018 revision, but there are a handful of significant changes that PDGA-sanctioned event competitors and Tournament Directors (as well as their staff) should start familiarizing themselves with now to avoid any issues when the revision takes ef...

The 2016 Solstice Soirée hosted by Sunlight Mountain Resort disc golf tournament was a successful and fun event for all. 96 players competed in the two round PDGA B-tier event on the gorgeous ski mountain near Glenwood Springs, CO. It was wet and muddy on Saturday with pretty constant rain. However no lightning stopped the tournament and there was still plenty of smiles on the players faces. Most of the scores improved on Sunday as it was a nice sunny day. The one and only junior competing, #58982 Meci Klein from Thornton, CO improved her score by 20 strokes on Sunday.
Five time World Champion #19150 Kathy Hardyman, from Colorado Springs, CO won the Pro Masters Women division. There was a tie breaker after the last round in the Pro Masters M...

Hello! We are a week away now and there’s a lot of things ready for you to have a lot of fun. The course is playing nicely and conditions aren’t as bad as they could be, considering it’s a ski mountain. The course map is coming. The layout is changed since the 2014 COLO State Championships, but is similar. It is a ski mountain and somewhat steep. So we can provide a ride up, to only those who really need it.
Sunlight has horses and cows on it’s land during the summer. So there are fences all over the course, which change every year. We are going to bungie cord together and mark crossing points for you players. But you will have to cross over fencing a few times throughout the course. It is a NON Barbed, smooth wire fence.
There are wild roses ...

This is the CDSA State Champion trophy. I got it from the previous president at HPC in 2011 and gave it to Joe, after he won the 2011 State Championships. We will be getting updated because the last date on it is 2007. As you can see, there are the names of some of the best disc golfers in our state and country on there: 2004-Jordan Cowles, 2005- Chauncey Donaldson, 2006- Mike Randolph, 2007- Dave Feldberg. Here are the missing names that will be added this year, before the 2012 state championships: 2008- Dave Feldberg, 2009- Cale Leviska, 2010- Joe Rovere, 2011- Joe Rovere.

Thanks to donations from the CDSA, MHDGC and Birdie Disc Golf, 2 new baskets have been replaced at Ken Caryl Ranch. This is one of Colorado's oldest disc golf courses, established in 1978.

This is the status of the 30 year old baskets at Ken Caryl Ranch. Zoom in and you can see that it has baling wiring for the bottom of the basket holding it together.

I played the course last weekend and it’s gorgeous. Some local players are working hard to make it even better for all of us. This course is on high desert terrain and is a lot of fun with holes including tunnels, mandatories and a hanging basket. There are cactus around and some hiking on steep slopes. So please wear appropriate footwear. Also be careful picking up your disc with your throwing hand because of the cactus. The course is setup and flagged as of now, including the 5 temp holes. All baskets will be in position on Friday June 26 at the latest. Maps will be available hopefully Monday June 22. The only OB on the whole course will be the road along hole 6, (asphalt is the line) and the parking lot by holes 18 and 1. The parking lot...

Hello Everyone,

You guys have been kind enough to let me into this site and for that I am grateful. I have enjoyed playing disc golf recreationally for the last three years. I've discussed this topic with a couple of friends past year and we are trying to find out how to get some actual lessons this upcoming year to take it to the next level.

Fair warning, none of us are skilled. In fact we're probably downright awful by an association's definition. However we are definitely interested in getting better!

If anyone has any direction please let me know. Thanks!

The basics of a good disc golf course should be a maintained. 1-Bulletin board with course map, 2- tee signs, 3-proper sized and safe tee pads, and 4-next tee directional signs. I'm truly embarrassed and frustrated when I travel to a course only to find it neglected and in disarray and to find out they run tournaments there. Look at your own course. In December 2010, Ray Woodruff and I approached the Mile High Disc Golf Club (MHDGC) Board with a request of support for a women’s only disc golf tournament. The Board said “yes” and Ray and I were off and running. Our first event at the Mansion course proved that a women’s only event in Colorado was viable and in fact could help promote women’s disc golf in our region. Since the June 2011 event, the number of women competing in MHDGC events has increased dramatically. The RMWDGC, along with other initiatives designed to promote women’s disc golf, have had a very positive impact on our sport. The event has grown over three short ye...

It’s official!! Due to the generosity and kindness of the Mile High Disc Golf Club members (and their financial donors), the 2014 Mile High Ice Bowl raised $10,323.51! Combine that with the $9,676.49 raised by Winter Warriors, and we will be handing the Food Bank of the Rockies $20,000 this year (due to a last minute donation this morning, the number came out at exactly $20K)!!

Please stop and think about this for a minute. Because of all of your giant hearts and giving spirits, we will be providing 80,000 meals to those in need ($1 = 4 meals). That’s freaking amazing my friends! And it’s all because of you!!! I’m getting a little weepy here!

Kurt Stauder - Hey guys here is the final numbers from the Ice Bowl. We raised close to $2,000 it was real close to that with David Fournier, Nathan DeLand and Doc Taylors last minute donations so I pitched in the last few bucks to make it the even $2,000 and we donated a total 585#s of food. That's fantastic! Can't wait until next year we'll make it even bigger and better! Thanks to all who contributed to making this a huge success!

Here is a little story of it's creation by Michael Shuette of the Pikes Peak Flying Disc Golf Club.

About a year ago I was contacted by John and Christie Ramshur, Palmer Lake residents who wanted to have a disc golf course to entice their daughter Courtney and her fiancee to come down more often from Denver so that they would see them more often. John and Christie had approached the business group / association of Palmer Lake to work a disc golf course into their GoCo grant for the purpose of improving the level of attraction of PL and bring more visitors to the area. We met a few days later and I walked them through what appeared to be a good usa...
